Terms of Service

Bikit is a tool for recording your bikes, their components and their maintenance, and for reminding you when a service is due.

It is intended solely as a record-keeping and maintenance reminder tool.

Every maintenance reminder shown by Bikit is based entirely on the information available to the app: the maintenance intervals you configured and the mileage or usage reported by you or synchronised from Strava.

Bikit has no way of determining the actual condition of any bicycle or component.

A component may require maintenance before its scheduled interval, and a component that has exceeded its interval may still be in good condition. A green status or a full health bar must never be interpreted as a safety inspection or professional assessment.

You remain solely responsible for inspecting, maintaining and using your bicycle safely. If a component affects your safety, such as brakes, steering, frame or suspension, it should be inspected by a qualified mechanic.

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Bikit account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity carried out through your account.

If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact Bikit immediately.

Bikit offers a free plan and optional paid subscriptions.

Current subscription prices are displayed before you complete your purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.

If you cancel a subscription, it remains active until the end of the current billing period and will not renew afterwards.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your payment card details are never received or stored by Bikit.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, any statutory cancellation or refund rights apply in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

The bikes, components, maintenance records, notes and other information you add remain yours.

Bikit stores this information solely to provide the service and claims no ownership over your content.

You may edit or delete your information at any time, and you may request a copy of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you upload is accurate and that you have the right to upload it.

You agree not to:

• access another user's account or data without permission;
• interfere with, overload or disrupt the service;
• attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the application;
• use automated tools to abuse or interfere with the service;
• resell, copy or present Bikit as your own product;
• use Bikit for any unlawful activity.

Connecting Strava is entirely optional and is also subject to Strava's own Terms of Service.

When connected, Bikit only accesses the information required to synchronise your bike usage and maintenance history.

You may disconnect your Strava account at any time through the app settings. Disconnecting Strava does not automatically remove information that has already been synchronised into Bikit.

Bikit is an independent project maintained by a single developer.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Although every reasonable effort is made to keep Bikit available and reliable, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation and specific response times cannot be guaranteed.

Features may be modified, replaced or removed over time.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not permit it, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bikit's total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for Bikit during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Bikit, including its software, design, branding, logos and website content, is protected by intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of Bikit or any of its intellectual property rights.

You may delete your account at any time.

Bikit may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms.

Where reasonably possible, you will be informed before permanent action is taken and given an opportunity to resolve the issue.

These Terms may be updated from time to time.

Whenever changes are made, the Last updated date at the top of this page will be updated.

If changes materially affect your rights, Bikit will provide reasonable notice before they take effect.

Continuing to use Bikit after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.

If you are a consumer, you continue to benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rights available under the laws of your country of residence.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Bikit first. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved, you may use any alternative dispute resolution body available under the consumer protection laws applicable in your country.

These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bikit regarding your use of the service.
